Community Christian Church is a fellowship of believers, seeking to live the way Jesus taught us, by loving God and loving our neighbors. This means that we serve our community and care for creation, we study the Bible and ask hard questions, we break bread and preach a word of grace, and we do all of this, in community.
Some, of what being community looks like, includes:
- Being an Open and Affirming congregation, which means that your gender identity or the way you partner with someone, makes you who you are, and we value the whole of who God has made us.
- Being the hands and feet of Christ! We live this out, by pursuing justice, modeling kindness and mercy, and serving our neighbor. (Don’t worry…we mess it sometimes…but we try really hard to live out Jesus’ command to love and serve.)
- And creating safe spaces to be curious about God, belief, and religion as a whole. We acknowledge that religion can be harmful; we try to stem that trend by offering an unapologetically progressive environment based on love, compassion, empathy, and grace. Mostly because we believe in a God who sees you as beloved.
We are also a small church with a broad reach! This means that we work together to help others, get to know each other, and are deeply connected through our shared faith story and ethic. We serve lunch daily to our food insecure neighbors, host a cooling center during the hottest months, work with I-HELP, and support multiple 12-step support groups on campus. God is working in our midst and beyond our walls, and we are grateful to be part of that work.

There is a place for you at God’s Table and in God’s community – no matter if you’re a believer, a trying-to-be believer, a curious observer, or a “meh, I’m not entirely sure about this religion stuff” sort of person! Rev. Trish Winters
Rev. Winters comes to us with previous experience as an Interim Minister and a Senior Minister in several Disciples congregations, having most recently served in Kansas City, before relocating to Arizona. She provides a thoughtful balance of Scripture study and practical applications towards greater justice and mercy in our world.

Keeley Bruner
Keeley coordinates the logistics of the church schedule, building usage, and communication so that we can use our space well and make sure everyone is included in our worship, outreach, and educational ministries.
