Our Pastor, Rev. Bob Howard, joined us in December, 2017 as Interim Pastor and was called by our congregation to be Pastor in June, 2019. Bob received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, his M.Div. from Phillips Graduate Seminary, a Ph.D. in Preaching and Worship from Vanderbilt University. He has served primarily as Interim Pastor at Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa, First Christian Church in Scottsdale, and Desert Dove Christian Church in Tucson. He is a life-long Disciple of Christ, ordained to the ministry by that body. He is an accomplished preacher and worship leader, a “people person” sort of pastor who makes each member of the congregation feel they are special. Married to Marilyn, together they are parents of a son, RJ, recently graduated from ASU. Bob is progressive-minded, socially conscious. He is a true theologian for whom scripture and prayer both comfort and challenge the church to be the church in the contemporary world. And, he plays the guitar.
